C'est generalement une corvee qu'aucun enfant ne desire puisqu'elle inclue d'inhaler la poussiere du sol.
J'ai pris cette image tres tot un matin a la devanture de mes voisins a Lome, Togo.
C'est pour moi une illustration pour dire que l'Afrique doit faire son menage, nettoyer les "saletes" qui minent le continent et se mettre au travail. Ca doit commencer avec les plus jeunes pour un meilleur futur.

Mario Macilau: The Zionist - is a documentary photography, which the author deals with the traditional religions heritage in Mozambique, the Zionist are still preserve in some ancient traditions in the south. It goes about a Christian movement that is part of traditional African religions involving teachings, practices and rituals, that is part of the structure of native societies in Africa and that reflect local conceptions of God and the cosmos. Even within the same community there may be small differences in the perception of the supernatural. It goes about religions that were not significantly altered by the more recently adopted religions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism and others).

It is estimated that about 100 million people throughout Africa follow this religions. They believe in the importance of nature, as a space created by God. So places like the beach have an enormous significance and are an ideal place to get in touch with God, to have water baptisms, to sacrifice and shed the blood of animals. The Zionist are known as followers of a religion that cures all sorts of diseases, weaknesses, psychological and spiritual problems. They use natural ingredients and various symbols during their traditional religious ceremonies. Many people are following this religion, especially in rural areas where the access to public hospitals is restricted. Men and women follow this religion in search of good fortune in love, people with employment problems, health problems, and problems at school.

Rituals to invoke the spirits, the ancestors and the practice of traditional medicine are part of this movement. Recently the government and more in particular the Ministry of Health has approved the creation of the first Institute for Traditional Medicine in the country, for the valorisation of this sector that has made its contribution to the development of health. With the creation of this institute, the government doesn’t want to control or regulate traditional medicine, but wants to seek ways of promoting it and to allow it to be more valued.
