The Courier is pleased to announce the ‘2010 ACP Courier Photo Competition’!

Are you a young photographer under 30? Do you come from an ACP country?

If so, the ‘2010 ACP Courier Photo Competition’ is for you!

The themes of the competition: trade, culture, tradition, climate change and science and technology, as they relate to African, Caribbean and Pacific countries and development.

PRIZE: €1000 FOR THE BEST PHOTO

Through this competition, The Courier aims to increase the visibility of young photographers and encourage the use of photography as a tool to reflect on and describe societies and the world around us. Get involved now!

How do I enter?

Entering the competition is really easy. First, you have to register to the site and create a public profile, into which you will upload your photos (existing subscribers to The Courier will have already received instructions, including a password, by email). Bear in mind that you can submit up to 5 photos, so choose your best ones!

Before submitting your photos read the rules of the competition carefully, in which you will also find technical specifications. Don't forget that the expected quality of photos is 300 dpi and the photos have to be taken in ACP countries.

The selection

An international jury of experts will select the best pictures according to these parameters:

• Pertinence and authenticity (prerequisite);
• Technical quality (33%);
• Story-telling, photojournalism skills (33%);
• Originality and artistic value (33%).

Deadline

The deadline for submissions is 15 September, 2010 at 18:00 Brussels time. Don't be late!
